Alexander Bostic is an Illustrator and Artist; He was born in Bennettsville, South Carolina. He attended the prestigious Pratt institute in Brooklyn. NY where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. He received his Master of Arts Degree from Syracuse University. Alex began his career as a studio artist, working in Kansas City, MO, Los Angeles CA and New York City.

Alex moved on to a career in freelancing Where in New York he had a Studio called Illumination Studio that he co-own for thirteen years with his class mate from Pratt Institute Rudy Gutierrez. Alex’s artwork is represented by DEBORAH WOLFE LTD Artist Representative and is in the collection of The Waddem Art Gallery, Sterling. VA, The National Baseball Hall of Fame, Cooperstown, NY, Wilberforce University, Wilberforce, Oh, The Ludwig Museum, West Germany, The National Gallery of Zimbabwe in Bulawayo, Africa, and NASA, NASA Headquarters in Washington, DC.

My work is painterly and representational; I use light and color and the human form to tell stories about things that are real and unreal. I use my imagination to take people to other places. My art is from a long tradition of illustrators and painters such as N.C. Wyeth, Norman Rockwell and Sergeant.

A founding member of Richmond Represents in Richmond VA, as well as memberships at the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles, The Illustrators Club of Washington D.C. and Maryland The Portrait Society America and The oil painters of America. Alex lives with he wife Lydia Thompson who is also an artist of Ceramics, They have a studio together called celeste Studio in Glen Allen Virginia.
